When people hear that I run an executive VA business, they often picture diary management, inbox organisation and helping busy business owners stay on top of their day.
Those things are absolutely part of what we do at Create Momentum. But they’re only one part of the story.
The reason many of our client relationships become long-term partnerships is because we don’t operate at arm’s length.
The team and I become embedded within the businesses we support.
- We understand how they work,
- Who their people are,
- What matters to their leadership team and
- How the organisation operates throughout the year.
That depth of understanding is exactly why we’re able to support something much bigger than day-to-day executive administration.
We’re also trusted to deliver internal business events from beginning to end.
Events are rarely just about booking a venue
A successful company event can look effortless to the people attending.
What they don’t always see is the amount of planning happening quietly behind the scenes.
For us, that planning starts long before anyone receives an invitation.
We’ll help source the right venue based on the objectives of the event, the size of the group and the experience the client wants to create. From there, every detail starts to come together.
Travel arrangements are coordinated around the individual needs of the people attending rather than treating everyone as though they have
identical requirements.
- Accommodation is organised.
- Meals and dining arrangements are planned.
- Activities around the event are coordinated where needed.
- Speakers have a briefing call well before the day, ensuring everyone knows where they need to be, what they need to deliver and how the agenda fits together.
It’s a huge number of moving parts, but when you’ve been working alongside a client throughout the year, you’re not trying to learn their business in a few weeks. You already know it.
Being embedded makes all the difference
This is where we believe Create Momentum offers something quite different.
- We’re not brought in solely to organise an event and then disappear afterwards.
- We’re often already supporting the leadership team every week.
- We understand their priorities.
- We know how meetings are run.
- We recognise the personalities within the business.
- We often already work with many of the people who will be attending.
That means the event feels like a continuation of the support we’re already providing rather than a separate project handed over to an unfamiliar supplier.
There’s a huge difference between simply coordinating logistics and genuinely understanding the organisation you’re coordinating them for.
That familiarity helps us anticipate things before they become issues. It allows us to communicate naturally with everyone involved and gives
leaders confidence that somebody already understands the bigger picture.
From Windsor to wherever our clients need us
Although Create Momentum is based in Windsor, our work certainly isn’tlimited to Berkshire. Some weeks we’re supporting clients from our offices and managing everything remotely. Other weeks we could be travelling internationally to deliver an event alongside our clients.
That flexibility is something we’ve built into the business because our clients operate across different locations and sometimes across different continents.
When international travel is involved, we work closely with our trusted travel partner Nikki Marlborough, who has established contacts across both the northern and southern hemispheres.
Having that support means we’re able to coordinate travel packages that genuinely reflect the needs of the individuals attending rather than trying to fit everyone into a one-size-fits-all arrangement.
Flights, accommodation and wider travel logistics can all be brought together as part of one coordinated experience.
What happens on the day?
The event itself is where all of that preparation quietly comes together. Our role isn’t to stand in the spotlight. Quite the opposite. We’re there to make sure everyone else can focus on why they’ve come together.
That means
- keeping the schedule moving,
- coordinating speakers,
- supporting delegates,
- dealing with last-minute changes and
- resolving the inevitable little issues that arise during any live event.
- If something changes, we’re already there.
- If someone needs help, they know who to ask.
- If the agenda needs adjusting, we’re able to make it happen.
The best feedback we receive is often when people say the event simply felt well organised. That’s exactly the point.
Good event delivery shouldn’t feel complicated to the people attending.
And it doesn’t end when everyone goes home
One of the most overlooked parts of an internal event is what happens afterwards.
There are usually
- Actions to follow up.
- Conversations to revisit.
- Feedback to collect.
Leadership teams often want wash-down meetings to discuss what worked well and what could be improved for next time.
Because we’re already part of the wider executive support function, we’re able to help bring those final pieces together too.
The event doesn’t simply end when the last guest leaves the venue. It becomes part of the ongoing rhythm of the business.
The value of one trusted support team
For me, the biggest benefit isn’t that Create Momentum can organise venues, travel, accommodation or speakers. It’s that clients don’t need to build a separate relationship with another supplier every time they want to bring their people together.
- They already have a team who understands their business.
- A team who supports their executives throughout the year.
- A team who knows the culture, the priorities and the people behind the organisation.
That’s what makes us such a natural event partner. Executive support is about creating momentum in a business every single day. Sometimes that means managing diaries and preparing meetings. Sometimes it means coordinating an international leadership event with dozens of moving parts.
The principle remains exactly the same.
We take ownership of the detail so our clients can focus on leading their business.
